AHLC/FAQ
Frequently Asked

Common questions.Direct answers, no run-around.

What does AHLC do?
AHLC supplies professional event production labor — stagehands, technicians, and crew — for concerts, tours, festivals, corporate events, and sporting events across Minneapolis, the Twin Cities, and greater Minnesota. Disciplines: load in/load out, audio, lighting, video, stage and carpentry, corporate A/V, and more. You name it, we can help.
Where is AHLC based and what areas do you serve?
AHLC is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Twin Cities Metro is home — Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Bloomington, Edina, and the surrounding suburbs. Beyond the metro we often travel crew across the upper Midwest: greater Minnesota (Duluth, Rochester, Saint Cloud, Mankato, Bemidji), eastern North Dakota (Fargo, Moorhead, Grand Forks), eastern South Dakota (Sioux Falls), western Wisconsin (Hudson, Somerset, Eau Claire, La Crosse), and northern Iowa (Mason City, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids). See the full service area.
Do you travel crew outside the Twin Cities?
Yes, and it's worth being precise about what that means. We bring our own roster. We are not subcontracting to whoever answers the phone in your market and putting our name on it. The hands who show up to a Fargo or Sioux Falls load in are people off the same list that crews US Bank Stadium and Xcel Energy Center — a crew that has worked together, not a pickup call assembled the week of the show.
How does pricing work for an out-of-market crew?
Travel and lodging are quoted up front and built into the number you approve. Mileage on every out-of-market call; lodging when the call requires an overnight. Near markets like Hudson, Saint Cloud, or Rochester carry very little travel cost. Fargo, Sioux Falls, and Cedar Rapids are real line items and you'll see them before you agree to anything. No surprises on the invoice.
What's the lead time for a crew outside the metro?
In the Twin Cities we can often crew an emergency within 24 hours, however more time is always best. Out of market, give us a week or more where you can — we're moving people, vehicles, and schedules around to do what we do best, not just filling a schedule. Two weeks is better on a large call or a multi-day festival build. Short notice still gets a real answer: call and we'll tell you straight whether we can make it work.
How quickly will you respond to a booking inquiry?
Typically within 24 hours or the next business day. The booking form on the home page is the fastest way to reach us — tell us the venue, event date, event type, and rough crew size and we'll get back to you.
What's the minimum lead time for a crew?
We have staffed crews in as short as 24 hours for emergency calls. Most bookings are placed days to weeks ahead, and more time is always best — but if a tour or event needs hands tomorrow, let us know.
What crew sizes do you staff?
We've staffed a single hand to more than 60 stagehands on a call. Whatever horsepower you need, we're here to run it.
What kind of labor do you staff?
Our roster is a diverse crew of not only stagehands, but skilled production technicians as well. We staff any department from lighting to audio with engineers, camera and spotlight operators, patch techs, forklift drivers, and more.
Which Minneapolis venues has AHLC worked?
Every major Twin Cities venue — US Bank Stadium, Target Field, Target Center, Xcel Energy Center, The Armory, Mystic Lake Amphitheater, Uptown Theater, Varsity Theater, and Myth Live — plus theaters, ballrooms, convention space, and outdoor festival grounds across Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and greater Minnesota. Do you do corporate event production?
Yes. Galas, conferences, awards shows, breakouts, and corporate A/V calls — and we won't make it weird. We can provide branded-attire crew where the room calls for it.
How do I book a crew?
Use the booking form on the home page. Tell us the event type, the venue, the date, and the crew size you need. We respond within 24 hours.
What types of events do you crew?
Concerts and tours, festivals, corporate events and galas, conferences, awards shows, theater and scenic builds, sporting events, and one-off productions across the Twin Cities and Minnesota.
Is AHLC unionized?
AHLC's crew is non-union production labor that works seamlessly alongside venue and union staff where they're called. Many of our hands have worked union calls for years and know how to integrate cleanly.
How long has AHLC been in business?
Founded in 2015 in Minneapolis. Ten-plus years, 1,500+ events, 30+ Minnesota venues, and a seasonal 200+ crew roster.
